M. G. George Muthoot Cancer Centre is the dedicated comprehensive cancer care division of MGM Muthoot Hospitals, Kozhencherry. The Cancer Centre has been set up to provide state-of-the-art oncological care based on a patient-centric approach. This new division hosts comprehensive treatment facilities with a modern chemotherapy suite, external and internal radiation therapy facilities, an oncology pharmacy, a dedicated radiotherapy CT simulator, a mini operation theatre, procedure rooms and outpatient departments with all other one-stop support services for patients and caregivers. The centre is staffed by Doctors, Oncology Nurses, Physician Assistants, Technologists, Radiation Safety Officer and Medical Radiation Physicists, Medical Social Workers, Pharmacists and other dedicated Support Staff. As a multi-disciplinary team, we work with one another to develop individualized treatment plans for each patient. We ensure that referring Physicians and other Oncologists involved in the patient's care are kept fully apprised of those plans and the patient's progress during and after radiation therapy.
Shri M. G. George Muthoot, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, attended various Executive Management Courses at the Harvard Business School. He joined the family business, The Muthoot Group, at a young age and became its Managing Director in 1979. He took over as the Chairman of the Group in 1993. Under his able leadership, The Muthoot Group widened the scope of operations and turned into a business conglomerate comprising 20 diversified divisions with a presence across India and overseas. Muthoot Finance Limited, its flagship company, became the largest gold financing company in India and the first-ever NBFC to join the '1000 Crore Net Profit Club'. Owing to his astute leadership and business acumen, he was conferred numerous national and international awards by renowned institutions and government bodies. He also had a great philanthropic side to him that believed in the inclusiveness and empowerment of all sections of society. As a responsible corporate citizen, he undertook numerous activities and programs encompassing education and healthcare that have been instrumental in changing millions of lives for the better.
